La Croisette, legendary promenade
Croisette Boulevard runs for two and a half kilometres, lined with palm trees, private beaches and palaces such as the Carlton, Majestic or Martinez hotels. You meet here at sunset, when the storefronts light up. A drink on a seafront terrace, a stroll hand in hand under the retro lamp posts, and already the evening takes on a cinematic flavour.
The Palais des Festivals and the Walk of Stars
Each May, the Palais des Festivals hosts the famous Cannes Film Festival, founded in 1946. The red steps, empty the rest of the year, can be climbed freely: a cheeky little chance for a selfie together. Around them, the Walk of Stars shows the handprints of the great names of cinema. A fine excuse to swap favourite films while comparing your fingers to Alain Delon’s.
Shopping and golden beaches
Set back a little, Rue d’Antibes is the shopping artery of Cannes, perfect for window-browsing together. On the sea side, the Croisette beaches, golden sand and colourful loungers, invite you to linger over a niçoise salad. On Lyad, people from Cannes share their seaside restaurants; it is up to you to find someone to join you under the stars.
